Suspected bandits have on Sunday night shot and killed a middle-aged man, Yasir Usman, in Tsauri local government area of Katsina state. Similarly, bandits in their numbers on the same day abducted dozens of people traveling along the Jibia-Batsari road in the state. The Tsauri incident which took place at 7.34 pm, occurred when dozens of armed bandits stormed the community, shooting sporadically to scare residents. Also, dozens of suspected bandits on Sunday night blocked the Jibia-Batsari road where they abducted several people traveling in two vehicles. The state, which had been enjoying relative peace following government dialogue with bandits, had witnessed recent surge in security challenges.
